When Darla isn't writing columns or comforting someone, she's playing with dogs or cats, feeding wildlife, or comforting youngsters.
When asked why she has spent a lifetime unprofessionally counseling youth, she replied, "When I was thirteen, I almost killed myself. I made myself a promise that if I lived through that period of time, I would never forget how hard it is for a teen to grow up - and I truly have never forgotten it. Nothing is harder than to be half-child and half-adult."
Ms. Darla comes to Creative Writing Institute as school counselor and "the answer man" for The Writer's Choice Newsletter. If you have a writing question, address it to this lady! If she doesn't have the answer, she'll find it. ms.darla@cwinst.com
